What We Do With the Stories

Ms. Tomlin, a Palm Beach County resident and recipient of a vehicle  donation through The Neighbors Helping Neighbors Fund at Palm Health Foundation

The stories being collected through the Sensemaker tool are confirming what Palm Health Foundation already knew about our community. Many of our neighbors are living in areas that are known for poor health outcomes due to a variety of factors, including lack of access to healthy food, safe spaces to walk outside and reliable transportation – just to name a few.

Our neighbors who live in these communities fair much worse than others when faced with everyday obstacles – and even worse in the case of a global crisis.

After reading the stories that you can explore on this site, the foundation established the Neighbors Helping Neighbors Fund to assist our community’s most vulnerable residents. This fund puts small grants directly into the hands of residents who are struggling to pay their rent, access food, receive medical treatment and more. This fund will aid in efforts to help our neighbors recover, rebuild and plan for the future.

Palm Health Foundation has committed $200,000 of our own grantmaking funds to provide a dollar-for-dollar match for every contribution made to the Neighbors Helping Neighbors Fund.

Palm Health Foundation will match every dollar you donate with another dollar in the fund.
