Who my story is about: Myself

#Onthebrightside #bittersweet

Coronavirus has been a positive and negative experience for me. On the positive side one of my streams of income will continue to come in. On the negative side, the way I am able to make extra money (to be able to save and not live paycheck to paycheck) would put me at risk by coming in contact with numerous people. Since I live with my grandmother, I’m unable to do this. I worry that the older people in my house are continuously going out for food. We bump heads a lot. On the bright side I’ve had the chance to work on being more active and I have had time to prepare healthier meals. (Minus one week of eating all junk and not being able to get enough motivation to do much outside of the bed.) My sister and I have started this new thing where we go on walks every day. On the negative side I am extremely tired of hearing about the virus and I’m hoping things will return to normal in May so that I can do the things I most enjoy again.

She had planned to spend sometime with her cousins in Miramar. However, because of Miramar’s Stay-at-home Order, she was unable to spend some quality time with family during the Easter Holiday. She is an 85 yr old widow. However, she has a strong support of family in Virginia and Canada. It is her niece, in Virginia, that orders grocery for her based on what she likes and prefers. She is adhering to the ordinances that have been set forward by the State, And has no strong opinion on the proposed outcome of the Corona Virus settling. Her neighbors keep a watchful eye on her.She looks forward to receiving her Stimulus Check. She,also, sees an increase in her food stamps . This makes her quite appreciative.

Living through coronavirus

The corona virus has impacted my life through numerous ways:1. I have had to complete my internship remotely2. My aunt became infected with the corona virus, which stressed my family out in the beginning but now we are relying heavily on faith3. I have had to cautious about where I travel and my surrounding because my dad is at risk of catching the corona virus4. I haven’t seen my baby nephew in a month because he is also at risk for catching the corona virus5. I have had walk the bridge for exercise due to the gym being closed6. I am constantly sanitizing my hands to reduce risk

Disabled

The virus has impacted my life by not allowing me to go anywhere. I have things to do and was planning on moving to Gainesville but now its all on a stand still due to the fact that everyone has to stay home.

I ,actually, feel that I had the virus after a 10 day cruise in December of 2019 which took me and my girlfriends to Aruba and Panama. I got home immediately saw my Doctor and was given antibiotic with bed rest…I was unable to leave the house for two weeks. So,now, I feel immuned to this virus. I am self-quarantined and have no fear. I am appalled at our government for there lagging feet to stop the spread.

It is so much arguing in our Government, just too much bickering for our Country to come to any definite decision much sooner as to how to get the American people SAFE, It has taken weeks and weeks to get us where we need to be,,,As a result many have died with the Government carelessly handling our LIVES. I,myself have been,so to speak quarantined for years due to 4 strokes. But,I get along fine. My daughter brings be whatever I need and handles my bills,

I WAS A DRUM MAJOR

The virus has alot of fear in it, You just do not know who has it and who doesn’t have it. I have never been exposed to fear on this level. The only thing I feared was the 25 yd dash as a runner in high school. Other than that,I ran the 50 and 100 yd dash with ease. The leaders have done all they can to help prevent the spread of this frightening virus, But it is the people who do not care that are not following the rules set forth by our local, state lawmakers. I was a drum major in my high school band and I traveled all over Florida representing my school never, ever contracted anything that would compromise my immune system. I continue to pray that this is over soon. I will be 86 yrs of age on my next 2021 brithday.

#6 Prepared Meals

The virus has not given me an opportunity to visit my wife my of over 40 years. SO.i must solely depend on the nursing facility to care for her, not being able to lay my eyes on her is very frustrating for her as well as for me. I, not only miss her, voice but her gently calling my name and praying with her, This virus should be calm by now. But the leadership of this country is does not place value on our lives. I.must depend on charitable organizations for prepared meals and it is a mystery to know who has and who does not have the virus, I depended on an organizatipn but now they no longer exist.

Handling adversity as a start up non-profit

Covid-19 has been a tough on All Nets Inc, we were just beginning to gain traction with our tutoring and mentoring program, and a week into our pilot Palm Beach County Schools began school closures. This immediately put our basketball clinic and celebration with Healthier Glades risk and set us up for a much more strife when it was officially cancelled. Months of planning and preparation were reduced to nothing. We are trying to stay positive, and find ways to still complete our mission, and still looking at ways in which we can build a tutoring and mentoring program that will not be affected by contact restrictions in our communities, because even though we are not in school there is no school, there is still a need to be in our children’s ears, and providing positive content and a positive message. We intend to find a way to facilitate this before this quarantine is up. These trying circumstances are just a test of your mission and a test of your resolve. We have to be innovative in the ways we rebuild. It take resilience, innovation, and a refusal to quit on your business whether we are able to get financial assistance or not there is always a way forward and we have to find it, because like all things this too shall pass.
